With a strong presence in the UAE, a well-known Indian business group plans to establish a new airline that will offer reasonably priced tickets to locals. The Alhind Group, a significant player in the travel sector for more than 30 years, has obtained the required licenses to start operating domestic airlines in India.
The group’s chairman, Mohammad Haris, shared with Khaleej Times that they are nearing the completion of the approval process. “Just last week, we met with officials from Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) and submitted all the necessary documents for obtaining landing permission at the airport,” he stated. “We had already secured the no objection certificate (NOC) to launch the airline. We aim to commence operations by January 2025, if not sooner.”
